Entrepreneurship journey
With a bachelor’s degree in geography and a diploma in business administration, Amira has over twenty years of professional experience. Her skills include cooking, drawing and writing. Encouraged by those around her, who appreciated the quality of her spice blends, she decided to turn her expertise into a business. Her main challenges have been financing and instability linked to the security situation. The SheLeads accelerator programme enabled her to learn from specialists how to establish, manage and structure a business.
Company activities
The project prepares, dries and packages spices and herbs under conditions designed to preserve their quality. It aims to establish a workshop that meets health and industrial standards while preserving Libya’s culinary heritage and traditional spices. The business now generates revenue and has created four additional jobs, bringing the team to six people. The lack of a compliant workshop still prevents official registration and has limited access to financing. Amira hopes to expand the business and market her products internationally.
