SUNDUS KUSHAD

Sundus Kushad, 28, is a visual artist and a graduate of the Faculty of Arts. Her knowledge of the sector helped her identify the shortage of cultural spaces in Tripoli that are suited to young people. She therefore envisioned a venue capable of hosting workshops, creative activities and exchanges in a safe and supportive setting. Her main challenge was finding stable premises that aligned with the project’s vision. The SheLeads acceleration programme helped Sundus strengthen her administrative and financial skills and better manage the growth of her business.

Dark Space offers professional and recreational workshops across different areas of visual arts and handicrafts. It also provides a creative environment primarily designed for young people who want to explore and develop their artistic talents. The business received a grant and is generating revenue, which has increased by 20% to 40%. Following the programme, it recruited three people, bringing the total team to five members. Dark Space already operated from one location before receiving support. Sundus now aims to consolidate the space, expand its programme of activities and achieve sustainable revenue growth.
